tale end (start)
Oops aa bit late. Let's go
welcome to tale end, my weekly match report of life as a freelance sports brand and marketing strategist, muddling my way through and highlighting my learnings along the way, as well as the interesting sports brand and marketing news piquing my ears.
what’s new in pact sport?
last week I signed two new clients (yipeeee), which will allow me to work across some amazing tournaments, rights holders and activations, as well as dipping my toe back into the agency world.
this week’s lesson
freelance: it’s feast or famine. make the most of both.
a few weeks ago, I was quiet for the first time since going freelance. it was weird. I increased outreach, went and visited so many people, I got ahead on projects and focused on content. It was great. But. I also didn’t let myself rest or catch up or breathe. I didn’t really come up for air. And now, I am super busy again.
the highs are high, the lows are low. you’re busy or you’re not. enjoy every moment and plan it right.
next week’s focus
finishing off my contract with a great agency i’ve been supporting and getting my head stuck into some research on grassroots football - THE BEST. I am also going to try and structure my time a bit better to get more ‘me time’ in. a run, a workout, reading my book. not slacking but just 30mins - hour of me. no kids, no laptop. let’s give it a go.
piquing in the world of sports brand and marketing
it’s all about content this week
All Blacks celebrating Will Jordan’s record - most test tries of all time (and he’s just getting started!)
British Airways x Fly Norwegian (and all the banter that came with it)
Brilliant article on ‘The Movement Class’ from Oana Leonte
And to finish on a high, how monumental was that Putella’s announcement 👀 the brand London City Lionesses is creating right now, through its talent, its content, its merch and its experience, is f***ing iconic
